We then head South for the 3 hour drive to the exclusive home in Prevelly, Margaret River. Day Two – Our retreat accommodation is in such an amazing location in Prevelly. Just a short walk from the house is a track that leads us to Surfer’s Point. We will be taking you out for breakfast to a beach cafe with an ocean view, but first we will be walking to Surfer’s Point, (a perfect spot for taking photographs) and really build up an appetite for that delicious meal and creamy coffee! The walk is one way, a 40 minute walk downhill. Of course, there is the option of catching a lift with the host if you prefer to eat brekky minus the walk. We like to please everyone!
We then drive to the beautiful Boranup Forest lookout, visit one of the region’s local Producers, taste some delicious wine at one of the many top wineries and have a picnic lunch at a very special location. The afternoon will be all yours when we return to the retreat. Dinner will be served at the retreat. In the early evening we will take a short drive after dinner down to Surfer’s Point to watch the sun setting over the majestic Indian Ocean.
Day 3 – We will have breakfast at the house then take you to a couple of our favourite beaches in the region. The beaches in the South West are spectacular and varied, from long stretches of soft white sand to secluded inlets where the water is a pure turquoise blue, contrasting with the burnt red rocks on the shore. There is no shortage of breathtaking ocean scenery!
Next stop is The Providore – where their vineyards, organic olive grove, orchard and vegetable gardens provide a spectacular array of produce. The shop’s tasting centres showcase an award winning selection of wines and liquers and a huge range of home made jams, preserves, olive oils sauces, dressings, spice mixes and desserts.
We can’t go past the Margaret River Chocolate Co without having a look! It has an amazing range of chocolate products, with Free entry and Free tastings, as well as viewing windows to see the products being made.
By this stage we will have worked up a healthy appetite so we will drive out to a restaurant in Yallingup with spacious gardens, panoramic views and great food. After lunch it’s a drive back to the retreat for a relaxing afternoon. Dinner is served at the retreat in the evening.
Additional extra – Can you picture yourself lying back under the stars, enjoying a movie in beautiful winery gardens whilst sipping on award-winning wine and enjoying some local gourmet fare? Arrive early (our host will drop you off and collect you), enjoy a glass of Cape Mentelle wine during the movie and take the ultimate comfort option and hire a bean-bed so you truly can lie back under the stars.
Day Four – We will have breakfast at the retreat and then head North to a fabulous beauty product supplier situated in both the Margaret River and Barossa wine regions. Their hand crafted raw soap bars are made using a traditional cold process method, Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil and only the finest quality natural ingredients, to produce luxurious products.
We are going to take you to more spectacular beaches in the region followed by lunch at a brewing co in Eagle Bay. Their restaurant overlooks farmland and bushland to Cape Naturaliste and the Indian Ocean. The Micro brewery serves up delicious fare to compliment their handcrafted beers and wines.
On the way back, we will stop in at a famous local winery for some wine tasting and maybe buy a bottle or two of their delicious wines! Their core range of the wines has evolved over 35 years to offer a wine style for every discerning palate; sparkling, sweet, dry and preservative free.
We will take you “home” to spend the afternoon and evening relaxing at the retreat – maybe take a bush walk, have a nap, read a book or chill with your new friends.
Day Five – We will have breakfast at the retreat and drive to our first stop – Cape Lavender Teahouse where we will enjoy a devonshire tea, coffee and cakes. It is here that they grow their lavender used in their hand made products and produce.
We always have time for wine! So one more stop on the way home for a bit of wine tasting. Then we drive North to Busselton and take a short walk along the famous Jetty. We will stop in to a lovely cafe in Busselton town for lunch before driving back to Perth.
